Picnic Area

On the hill of Borghetto San Carlo, in the shade of Roman pines and on beautiful handmade wooden tables, you can book your space in our outdoor picnic area. The area is equipped with bbqs, evening lighting and free Wi-Fi internet. We are available to host your events, including: parties, workshops, corporate meetings, coworking, lunches or dinners with friends. A big parking area is available to use.


From 5 June, every Saturday and Sunday lunchtime, express fried food and delicacies from our food truck with the guys from Pastella cucina artigianale. An encounter between good food and the products of the public lands that is worth trying. Plus cheeses, homemade bread, fresh beers and fair-trade coffee with cakes and biscuits from our kiosk. From 11 a.m. until the afternoon!

What the picnic area has to offer

We have about 80 seats on large tables that can accommodate 4 to 8 people each. Booking the barbecue, equipped with grill and firewood, is optional.

Coronavirus Emergency – In compliance with the safety regulations in force, the picnic area has been redesigned to accomodate a small number of people, in order to maintain the appropriate distance at the tables and the healthiness of surfaces and services.

The picnic area is open every day (from 11.00 to 23.30) by reservation for lunches in the shade of the pines, alfresco dinners in the evening or for other types of private events. To use them, you need to register with the Coltiva il Tuo Futuro association, which can be done on arrival.

The tastings of our produces are reserved to the member of the association Coltiva il tuo Futuro but are currently suspended due to the emergency situation. Tastings include:

  • Wood oven pizza menu (made with our organic flours)
  • Complete tasting menu of local products

Frequently asked questions

Is it possible to make last-minute bookings?

We accept reservations within 4 hours before the desired time. However, we advise you to write to us at least one day in advance so that we can better organize your stay.

From what time can we arrive and how long can we stay?

To use the picnic area, you can choose two main time slots: lunch (11.00 -17.30) and dinner (17.30 – 23.30). If you would like to stay longer, you can write to us at and we will find a solution together!

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, dogs are allowed however we ask you to please be aware of the other guests of the area.

After having lunch, if we can’t stay in the picnic area, is there a lawn or an area around where to relax?

Yes, if the area is booked, you can move to the large lawn adjacent to the fountain.

Do you have refrigerators that we can use or do we need to equip ourselves with cooler bags and popsicles?

We suggest you equip yourself with cooler bags and ice to make sure you can have everything fresh! We have a domestic-sized refrigerator where we keep the drinks to be sold cool on the spot(beers, wines and fruit juices).

Do you give us everything we need to use the barbecue (charcoal, grill and tools) or do we have to bring everything?

To use the barbecue we will give you: grill, cardboard / paper for lighting and seasoned wood for the embers.

Can friends join us in the afternoon even if they don’t eat with us?

Yes, but they will have to subscribe to the Coltiva il Tuo Futuro association for insurance matters (depending on the number, we will agree on a refund proportionate to the time of use of the place and its services).

How many seats are the tables from?

The individual tables have from 4 to 8 seats, in compliance with the safety regulations in force (therefore with seats spaced at least one meter apart).

Is it possible to broadcast music?

Yes, always respecting the other guests in the area.
